The Use of Monologue Speaking Tasks to Improve First-Year Students’ English-Speaking Skills

A significant number of studies are devoted to the psychological and social adaptation students educational process at university. This research contributes solution problem first-year students’ academic performance in framework studying a foreign language by working with monologue speaking tasks. The study offers an analysis improvement this particular type activity. took place Peter Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University, Russia, involved 274 enrolled undergraduate programs. Mixed qualitative quantitative methods were applied collect analyse data for study. included content Results make it possible conclude that use tasks paired peer interaction assessment can improve English-speaking skills.
